Ο Γιώργος Βαλαής ανέλαβε τα καθήκοντα του Γενικού Διευθυντή του ΕΚ τον Δεκέμβριο του 2023, έχοντας υπηρετήσει τον Οργανισμό από τη θέση του Προέδρου της Διαχειριστικής Επιτροπής για τέσσερις συναπτές θητείες από τον Ιούνιο του 2016.

Η παρουσία του στην Ελληνική ασφαλιστική αγορά από το 1999, περιλαμβάνει θέσεις ευθύνης για μεγάλο ασφαλιστικό όμιλο στην Ελλάδα και χώρες της Νοτιοανατολικής Ευρώπης. Εργάζεται στον χρηματοοικονομικό τομέα από το 1987, έχοντας εμπειρία με λειτουργικές και συμβουλευτικές αρμοδιότητες σε ΗΠΑ, χώρες της Νοτίου Αμερικής και Ευρώπης.

Είναι κάτοχος πτυχίων Bachelor από το University of Minnesota και ΜΒΑ από το Kogod School of Business, American University, Washington D.C.

George Valais assumed the position of General Manager of the AF on December of 2023, having served the AF as President of the Governing Board for four consecutive terms beginning in June of 2016.

His presence in the Greek insurance industry since 1999, includes positions of responsibility for a large insurance group in Greece and countries in Southeastern Europe. He has worked in the financial sector since 1987, having experience in operational and consulting affairs in USA, and countries in South America and Europe.

He received his Βachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and his MBA from the Kogod School of Business, American University, Washington, D.C.
